Peter Singer is an adjunct professor of medicine at the University of Toronto and a special advisor to the director-general of the World Health Organization. He was previously the CEO of Grand Challenges Canada and the director of the Sandra Rotman Centre at the University Health Network. Singer has been recognized for his contributions to health research and bioethics, and he is a fellow of several academies. He has published over 600 research articles, received over $50 million in research grants, and mentored hundreds of university students.
